Cretan Xinogrntos – aged hard cheese

A classic Cretan soup enjoyed year-round. Prepared with dried cracked wheat (xynoghrntos) soaked in soured milk, cherry tomatoes, fresh thyme, spring onions, and extra virgin olive oil. Served with crunchy multigrain croutons.

Cretan wild greens pies (Vegan)

A traditional Cretan recipe — the dough is freshly prepared upon order. Filled with wild greens sautéed in extra virgin olive oil.

For three decades in the food and hospitality industry, Merastri has not only been offering traditional Cretan flavors, but also producing its own products from its privately owned estates.

Faithful to tradition, we craft recipes that celebrate the bounty of this land. From our private vineyards, we produce a selection of fine wines and traditional raki, alongside hand-picked vine leaves, sun-dried raisins, and our artisanal grape molasses (petimezi)

Depending on the season and the fruits generously offered by the Cretan land, we craft liqueurs rich in flavor and aroma.

Our high-phenolic olive oil, harvested from the 'Smilies' groves, paired with aromatic herbs from the 'Merastri' mountain estates, lends a distinctive character to our signature recipes.

Our love for our land and nature comes together in perfect harmony with flavor.
